Curtis is a native of Yarrawonga, Victoria, Australia she is the daughter of Carmencita Ojales a Filipina from Bolinao Pangasinan and James Ernest Curtis-Smith an Australian lawyer. Her father was married in 1982. got married to Ojales. Her younger brother Jasmine has also become an actor. Clare passed away from a heart disease in 2007, she was just four months old.
